What did one saggy boob say to the other saggy boob?
"We better get some support around here or people are gonna think we're nuts!"
Ahem, anyhow alrighty! Heirlan, it is! I didn't think he'd get picked at all let alone first, but that awesome along with surprising.
1. His name! Heirlan, pronounced pretty much like it's spelt, heir like the heir to a throne and lan like LAN party (yay geeky references!)
His name means 'Clear Waters' in old Lumerian (white magic origins) tongue! and his last name is decently well known in Lumerian heritage.
2. His creation was after Histlan when I worked out more of her past and the bonds she had with people and I decided the one she had with him was quite important that I should develop him more and he certainly grew quickly from there.
His role definitely has some connection to my own brother and me, and not that we had hard times but just it's importance to myself overall and it's something reflected in Heirlan and Histlan's childhood.
3. Okay backstory! Heirlan is Histlan's older brother, by a year and a little bit. He's comes from a well-known and respected family, but not noble as are others. They still work hard but their positions still tend to be a little more prestigious nonethless. He and Histlan were very close until she was taken and he thought she was dead.
When she returned years later... he couldn't connect with her because of her 'condition' and felt like she was more or less dead still, in his eyes. A shell of her former self and it hurt him inside. He left a year later when he turned 19 to learn under a well-known Major in the Lumerian military.
4. When he was young and did something 'bad' he'd blame it on his sister, but usually when she did something bad, he'd take the fall for it.
5. Most embarrassing fact... when he was still young and in training in the military *snickers* He and buddies went out one night and he got rather drunk and swore he was in love with one of the woman they met and wanted to court her, but it turned out she was part of a local...brothel XD
For a man of fair class, he doesn't have the best luck with the women-folk, or at least picking 'em.
The floor is yours for question, m'dear!

1. Alrighty, her name which is pronounced Ist-lan, no h sound it's more of a deep push of breath before you get to the 'I', her name in old Lumerian (white magic origins) tongue means, "Clear Seer' which is appropriate but ironic because she blind of course, though it also has translation to "Clear Skies' but is less common. Her last name Gens is fairly well known for its heritage in the Lumerian history.
2. Hm, her creation wasn't anything crazy, I wanted a new character for a roleplay site called Dark Wars which was sooort of like a continuation of Pendragon a different RP site that closed down, but not directly linked. Unfortunately DW's pretty dead now too but I like Isty too much to get rid of her. Which for me is pretty common with this sort of stuff. I wanted to try RPing someone who had different challenge both in writing and character traits, so I went with the blind path and the infamous discrimination and elaborated heavily from there.
3. Backstory, herm, she had a pretty normal well-adjusted childhood (family and emotions wise) which for my characters seems to be a bit rarer. But when she was 12 she was kidnapped by an Umbrovian (dark magic origins) organization run in secret by a group of high order warlocks which were doing experiments on live subjects. Pretty cruel stuff, but one of the things they were researching on her was the conflicting of Lumerian and Umbrovian magics and whether through gradual exposure, both environmental and forcefully pushed upon her, that one magic can be adapted over another.
Technically the two magics destroy each other, so it had destructive effects on her such as making her lose her sight and polluting her body with dark magic. After 5 years and some she managed to get out and made it back to her family but needless to say, things were different.
4. Random fact, she can see in darkness and is more sensitive to people's thoughts, feelings and intentions. Oh! And when she was young she was one of those kids who had her life aaaall planned out. *chuckles* Wasn't quite the right prediction, her life as it stands is much more... soul-full than what was planned though.
5. Embarrassing fact, hmmm... she's never been drunk in her life aaaand despite being a very pronounced woman in her opinions and knowledge, she's pretty useless when it comes to anybody she has a crush on. She's either super formal to the point where she's actually colder to that person or can't even make sentences. And were she 'here' while I was explaining her face would be very rouged.
The floor's yours! Questions if you got any ^__^

As far as questions, lemme think... Hm. Ok, a fun one: if they had to be a character in a movie, which real life actress would you want to play that character?

Shame on you, Maurice. Can you not see that you have insulted the freak?
1. After he joined the Lumarian military, who was the closest friend he made there, how did the meet?
2. If there is one wish that could be granted for him, what is it that he would want most?
3. If Histlan came to the University of Waterloo as an accounting student, how much effort would he put in his work, why? What else would he rather be doing?
4. Someone (a big guy with a grey mustache, throwing knives bulging from just inside his vest, and obviously smelled of liquor) and his gang of friends (in similar description) called his friend a coward at a bar, what would Heirlan do?
5. If Heirlan had to lose a body part for a really important cause that he believes in and he was given the following choices, which one would he chose and why?
(both ears, both eyes, both hands, both feet, one leg, one arm, one foot and one hand).
6. Does Heirlan have a girlfiend?
7. What is his favorite color, and why?
8. Does he have any particular feelings towards rain/stormy weather?
9. Is he double jointed?
10. If he had to learn a type of dance, what would it be?
(lol, you can see the questions get weaker and weaker as my brain sloowlyyyy shuts down. Yeah, so, these questions are asked with the purpose of making you think real hard about the character, hope it should prove to be a fun (or at least thoughful) exercise to you)
Yuy
Okay!
1. Well he didn't make too many friends right away, he was very serious about his training and didn't take as many liberties as the other younger soldiers, but after a while he met a few young bucks he ended up being dragged out with more often and he came to be on best terms with a slightly older young adult named Karen Dappalhin (he's a male despite the name Karen, short for Kareniel). They became very good friends over the years and helped each other in lots of ways, including saving each other's lives here and there.
2. Oh man that's so tough! Well on a proffessional I think he'd wanted the Yeidin to win the war against the Sudao in the civil war that's going on, but on a more personal level he'd probably wish Karen were still alive or even more deeply secretive deep down in him he'd wish that Histlan hadn't been stolen away as a child or that he'd been able to protect her from it in some way.
With his personality it'd probably be for the greater good and be the ned of the war, but I feel he'd be very internally conflicted between ending the war and saving his sister.
3. I'll assume you mean Heirlan *chuckles*
If he went into Accounting at U of W, he'd put in a very solid well-rounded amount of effort and be quite serious and studious because he wouldn't be there if he didn't think it would have a large impact on his future. But he's overly serious in that regard often. And he'd probably rather be reading a good book with good wine in a comfortable chair near a fireplace or something. Or having a rousing debate with a friend.
4. He would probably come up with some manner of regally witty insult so compounded with complicated words that the men wouldn't know they were being insulted if it weren't for the entirely condescending tone he was using towards them, then quickly remind them that he and his friend did not rise in the ranks of the Lumerian forces and seen more terrors and combated them by being cowards of any sort, and though they do not go around picking fights at random places of leisure they are by no means cowards. All while keeping his hand demonstratively on the hilt of his rapier.
5. He would choose to lose one arm, because he has another arm that is of equal value and it doesn't not take both to do everything, I think he would just pray it wasn't his writing hand, but worse comes to worse he could relearn to write and relearn to fence, and still hold people. For Histlan he would lose one arm, or both eyes because he knows she learned to survive without them and would sacrifice that much more for his sister. Though that might come as a shock to the rest of his family.
6. *chuckles* Heirlan has a wife. When he was younger he had a girl here and there but nothing too serious since he went away or travel a lot between encampments. his wife was someone he knew a little as a child sort of from their Lumerian community, it was more of an arranged marriage, but he was happy enough when he thought her affections were true.
7. Probably silver because it has a lot to do with Lumerian culture and war. As bad of a reason as that is. He like rosy pinks on woman though, if that counts.
8. He does not particularily like it because it makes all the operations in battle and its preparations twice as hard, makes his men miserable, can spoil rations, upset the horses and livestock and came lead to trenchfoot if there aren't enough dry footings. Plus it gets mud into his tent and rugs often.
9. Nope not that I can say.
10. Well he knows how to waltz, but if he had to learn another, it'd probably be... *ponders* the one-step or foxtrot
Tah-da!
